Brownfields – Former industrial sites, gas stations, dry cleaners, junkyards, mining-related sites, and landfills. Every community in Colorado has them. What can your community do to clean them up and return them to productive use?
The Colorado Brownfields Program of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/brownfields) provides public and private property owners with resources to address environmental obstacles associated with brownfield properties, which would otherwise sit vacant and hinder economic development.
After an introduction from our moderator, Jesse Silverstein, our panelists, Mark Rudolph and Fonda Apostolopoulos will explain how to access the CO Brownfields Program. They will describe The Colorado Voluntary Cleanup Program, assessment and cleanup assistance, the Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund, and state site cleanup tax credits. For each program, they will cover how the program works, its importance in facilitating redevelopment projects, and where to find additional information.
